£600 thank you for our hospice!

A Mexborough family have said thank you to our hospice by donating £600.

Our in Balby, Doncaster has benefited from the £600 boost thanks to the Kerr family in memory of Gloria Kerr.

Dylan Kerr, Gloria’s son said: “My mum used the hospice recently for nine days and every time I spoke to her she told me how much she loved the staff and how she had her own little area in the garden. She loved the place and constantly spoke highly of it.”

Dylan who was living in South Africa when his mum was in the hospice felt content that she was happy and that she was receiving exceptional and thorough care.

When Gloria sadly passed away, Dylan and his family though it was only right that in lieu of flowers at the funeral they would ask for donations for the hospice instead.

Dylan said: “Me and my family were absolutely blown away when we realised we had £600, it’s an amazing way to commemorate mum, she would have been so happy knowing the money is going to the hospice. I’d like to say thank you to all of mum’s family and friends for being so generous.”

Maureen Harwood of the hospice said: “We would like to send our condolences and also say thank you to Dylan and his family and friends, the donation in memory of Gloria will make a difference to our patients. It’s also nice to hear our staff touch the hearts of the people that use our hospice.”
