Spring fair to raise cash for hospice appeal

Doncaster folk are being invited along to a spring fair at the town’s Balby-based hospice…..and organisers are making a plea for unwanted gifts.

The fair will take place at the hospice, off Weston Road, on Wednesday, March 22 from 10am until noon.

There will be a range of stalls including cakes, crafts produced by day hospice patients, a tombola, raffle and more.

Now organisers are looking for the donation of unwanted new or unused goods for the event.

Chris Smith, the community fundraiser for the hospice appeal, said: “We’re making a plea to residents to have a look through their cupboards and see if they have any unwanted unused gifts that they may want to donate. These make ideal prizes for our raffle and tombola. Any other donations for the fair would also be gratefully received.

“Every penny raised will go into our appeal to help provide additional services for our patients and visitors,” he added.

The hospice is also seeking volunteers to sell spring fair raffle tickets. Anyone who would like to make a donation or volunteer to sell raffle tickets should ring Chris on 01302 798391 or email Chris.Smith@rdash.nhs.uk
