Boost for hospice

Big hearted staff from our Rapid Response Unplanned Care Team have donated £190 to St John’s Hospice.

The money was raised from a bake sale and raffle to celebrate the NHS’ 70th birthday earlier this year.

The team, who are based at the Opal Centre, decided to donate the cash to the hospice after a team member’s spent time in the hospice earlier this year.

Joanne Galsworthy, Admin Lead  saw her dad Stewart (71) spend time in the hospice in February before passing away at home.

Joanne said: “Having had personal experience of the hospice, it seemed fitting to donate the money locally and I know that the donation is welcomed”.

Lindsey Richards of the hospice said: “Thank you to our Rapid Response Unplanned Care Team for organising the bake sale and raffle. It takes a lot of effort to put on events like this and thank you to everyone who not only baked the buns and donated items for the raffle but to everyone who supported the event too.”
