Bank staff boost hospice appeal

Big hearted bank staff have raised more than £500 for Doncaster’s hospice appeal.

Staff and customers of Yorkshire Bank, St Sepulchre Gate, held a fund raising day recently and raised £339 – but the bank also gave a further donation of £170 – raising £509 for St John’s Hospice in Balby.

The Yorkshire Bank team raised the cash by selling buns, biscuits and cakes and by holding a tombola and raffle.

Chris Smith, St John’s Hospice Appeal Community Fundraiser, said: “What a fantastic amount has been raised. I want to thank the staff and customers who gave so generously for our appeal. Every penny received is spent on our patients and their care.”

Debbie Wootton, Customer Banking Centre Manager of Yorkshire Bank said: “We are delighted to be able to help raise funds for such an amazing hospice. Many customers call in and contribute on our fund raising days even though they have no banking to do and all of the team enthusiastically get involved.”

The hospice is run by Rotherham Doncaster and South Humber NHS Foundation Trust (RDaSH)
