Thank you to Dr Desai
On behalf of everyone at St John’s Hospice we would like to say thank you to Dr Desai for visiting us with a donation recently, in memory of his late wife, who passed away in our care 13 years ago.
Dr Desai, who has now retired after 35 years serving as an Ophthalmologist at Doncaster Royal Infirmary, has been a regular visitor to the Hospice over the years to say thank you to the team and to spend quiet time in contemplation in our Chapel.
He told us: “After serving 35 years in the NHS myself (and my wife 25 years) I know what dedicated staff there are.
“I would like to thank everyone who looked after her during her brief stay, if only for a few days.
“Thank you to everyone who cared for her, treated her, and supported me and my family. Thank you and God bless you all.”
All donations made to our hospice charity go towards supporting us to go above and beyond for all of our patients and their families, including supporting them with complementary therapies, counselling, hairdressing, craft and legacy activities, as well as providing the beautiful gardens and amenities, which make our Hospice such a special place.
