Generous golfers raise £4,140
Business folk dipped their hands into their pockets to raise thousands of pounds for us, when a north Lincolnshire rail engineering company staged a charity golf day.
Crowle-based CWE Ltd organised the event at Hickleton Golf Club, with 76 golfers chipping in to take part and help raise a staggering £4,140 of much needed funds for the hospice.
CWE Managing Director Nick Andrew, from Sprotbrough, is a member at Hickleton. He said: “A family member works at St John’s so we understand the fantastic work they do for Doncaster people and wanted to lend our support. Everyone who took part had a great day we we’re planning to make the golf fundraiser an annual event.”
Nick, pictured, visited St John’s to hand over the cheque to our fundraiser Lindsey Richards, who said: “Nick’s donation has bowled us over, which is cricketing rather than golf terminology, but sums up how grateful we are to receive such a wonderful amount. Thanks to everyone who made it possible.”
