Charitable Funding supports Courtyard Garden
Our beautiful Courtyard Garden is now a beautiful oasis – thanks to charitable donations.
Thanks to £37,500 in donations generous donors including Next, Northern Powergrid, First Bus Company and the Rotary Club of St George’s, we have been able to transform the central courtyard, which is accessible from both our Inpatient Unit and Day Therapy Unit, and it is now a bright, relaxing, tranquil space for patients, visitors, staff and volunteers to enjoy.
St John’s Hospice Fundraising Manager said: “We are extremely grateful to everyone involved for their generous donations.
“The Courtyard Garden is at the heart of our hospice, which makes it completely accessible for all of our patients, visitors, staff and volunteers, and now offers a beautiful space for quiet reflection, while enjoying the scenery and wildlife it already attracts.”
In a small ceremony on Friday (31 May 2024), those who had provided support and investment for the project gathered with St John’s Hospice staff to see the finished garden and celebrate those who have worked hard to make it a reality.
