Runners hand over £816 to hospice

Two Sheffield runners have put their best feet forward and just handed over more than £800 to our Doncaster hospice.

Cassie Beedle and Tim Webster, who both live in Norton Lees took part in the Sheffield 10k late in 2017 and have now collected in their sponsorship and handed it over to our St John’s Hospice at Balby.

The pair raised £661 from pledges but when they added on gift aid it took the total to £816.88.

Cassie said: “We decided to raise money for the hospice because we know how much of a great cause it is and really wanted to do something to help, we have been overwhelmed with the donations people have made and are extremely grateful. I am originally from Doncaster and it was very rewarding helping out a local hospice.”

Chris Smith, our St John’s Hospice Fundraising Co-ordinator, said: “What a fantastic donation this is. I want to thank Cassie and Tim for this money – every penny will be spent on making our patients’ more comfortable.”
