Pedal power raises £540 for our Doncaster hospice

A team of 15 cyclists have used pedal power to raise £540 for our Doncaster’s hospice.

Brothers Rob & Steve Hogg, from Bolton, organised the event with family and friends in memory of their mum Shelley, who died at St John’s Hospice, Balby, earlier this year.

The cyclists pedalled 65 miles from Manchester to Blackpool.

Rob and Steve said: “We wanted to organise a fund-raising event in memory of our mum, who received excellent care at the hospice earlier this year.  The hospice offers a vital service at a time when families need it the most and we also wanted to say ‘thank you’ for what the staff did for my mum.”

Chris Smith, our Hospice Community Fundraiser, said: “I want to thank Rob, Steve and the rest of the cyclists for doing such a gruelling bike ride to raise money for us. Every penny raised will go to making our patients’ lives more comfortable.”
