Big boost for our hospice

A big hearted Denaby Main family have raised £710 for our hospice.

Heather Skelton, a catering assistant for the NHS, together with her family organised a singer, Danny Wilde, to entertain at Denaby Main’s Catholic Club. Besides ticket sales they also organised a raffle to raise the cash.

Heather, who works at The Food and Drink Café at the Tickhill Road Site, Balby, said: “I wanted to support a local charity and because I work at Rotherham Doncaster and South Humber NHS Foundation Trust I know about St John’s Hospice and the wonderful work the staff do there. I also know people who have received excellent care and have passed away there. I just wanted to help the hospice, and every little helps!”

Lindsey Richards, of the hospice, said: “I want to thank Heather, her family and all of the people who supported this event. Every penny raised will go towards supporting our patients and their loved ones.”
